Description +-

The Unison Mars series serve as a visual representation of the grounding technique, and the way in which stress causes the brain to function in phases, and the impact this has on individuals with PTSD and their surroundings. The work Best represents the rational brain, Grey represents the emotional brain, Dot represents the reptilian brain and 0-100 represents the moment of snap. Together, they form a cohesive narrative exploring the complexities of the mind and its response to stress. The primary four works focus primarily on the subject of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Additionally, the remaining three works of the series place emphasis on suicide prevention. This series, created by Delson, serves as both a therapeutic experiment in re-coding PTSD and suicide memories, as well as a theatrical performance for both general audiences and mental health professionals.

Robby Delson

Robert-Jan de Gunst (Robby Delson), is a Dutch self-taught artist, best known for his participation in the Art Brut Biennale of 2015, 2018 and 2022. Delson first started drawing as a form of therapy to deal with his mental state and as a way to communicate with the outside world. Isolated from the mainstream art world and art institutions, Robby taught himself by developing a form of artistic communication.

Delson's evolution, from an outsider to mainstream artist, allows him to move
freely in the art world - exploring a variety of mediums for expression, switching between abstract and figurative. He uses self-portraits to form a raw, authentic and powerful biography. Delson surveys and powerfully expresses his mental state which works simultaneously: as a solution to solve his mental health issues and to create a connection to the outside world.

Donation +-

Based on our agreement with the artist, 15% of the pre-VAT price excluding frames will be donated to support the social movement. Donation will be given to PTSD UK.
