Andrii Yermolenko

Since the start of Russian attacks, Yermolenko has been in Kyiv amongst the destruction. Their situation has not stopped their creativity, however. Yermolenko has been producing and sharing new visuals at a significant rate; in some cases posting six new works on social media in one day.

The artwork holds reference to pop art, and so innately explores this idea of cultural symbols and fast-paced production. Many artists, such as Yermolenko, have been motivated by the war to create poignant imagery. Yermolenko’s work, as attached, does not shy away from shaming Russia and Putin. In some cases, NATO is called out for refusing to create a no-flight zone. The bravery of the artist manifests itself within the visuals, starkly.
