Description +-

This work is part of the series The Neo Urban Collection Classic, a selection of pieces in which the artist has merged classical works of art with contemporary art techniques. In doing so, Slasky digitally transports the art that they recognise as holding contemporary importance. He alters original works of art to sit within contemporary social and artistic environments. Fusing urban influences and classic contemporary pop art, Slasky represents the icons of this century and significant moments in history. The works within this series have an immediate sense of familiarity injected with richness and modernity. Details are pushed front and centre into his canvases, using contrasting colour techniques, textured backgrounds, and silkscreen prints to create the same subject in various shapes, separating them from their traditional backdrops.

"Art is not representing new things, but representing with novelty" -Slasky

Slasky is an Italian artist whose works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at an international level. Primarily, they blend classic works of art with contemporary digital art techniques. With his neo-urban classic style, he combines past and present, bringing the protagonists of the original works of art into traditional contemporary social and artistic environments.
